Harlow man pleads guilty public order offence at Princess Alexandra Hospital

A HARLOW man has pleaded guilty to a number of public order offences including one at Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Darrell Smith, aged 39, of Ram Gorse, Harlow pled to the following at Chelmsford magistrates court.

On November 28th, 2025 at Princess Alexandra Hospital, Harlow, with intent to cause members of the public harassment, alarm or distress, used threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour, thereby causing that person or another harassment, alarm or distress.

On November 28th, 2025 at Harlow, assaulted an emergency worker, acting in the exercise of his functions as such a worker, by beating him.

On November 28th, 2025, stole groceries, to the value of £139.88 belonging to Co-Op stores, Hatfield Heath.

Smith was made subject to a community order of six month alcohol treatment.

He should have been given a prison sentence ! This is why people act this way as they know there is no punishment.
