Harlow man pleads guilty to being in possession of meat cleaver

A HARLOW man has pleaded guilty to being in possession of a meat cleaver in Harlow.

James Callandar, aged 45 of Aylets Field, Harlow was charged with the following at Chelmsford magistrates court.

On March 3rd, 2026, had with you, without good reason or lawful authority, in a public place, Aylets Field, an article which had a blade or was sharply pointed, a meat cleaver.

Callandar was remanded on unconditional bail.

His next scheduled appearance is May 5th, 2026.

So, unconditional bail for two months to roam free with the hope that he doesn't carve someone up. Probably the court will send him on a government sponsored course to become a butcher.
