POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a road traffic collision.

A black Volkswagen Golf was travelling along the B172 Coppice Row in Theydon Bois at 2.20am on Tuesday, December 27 when it left the road and was in collision with a tree.

The incident was near the junction with the B1393 Epping Road.

The driver, a 19-year-old man from Harlow, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital, where his condition is described as stable.
