Someone has the Blues as BB King painting stolen from Harlow gallery

POLICEbbking are appealing for information following the theft of a one-off painting of American blues musician BB King by a Hertfordshire artist in Harlow.

A burglary was committed at an art gallery on West Gate between 4pm Saturday, March 8 – 9am Monday, March 10, with thieves stealing the unique A4-sized oil painting valued at nearly £1,000.

Investigating Officer, Pc Andrew Christian, said: “This painting was stolen during second weekend in March and so we are looking for those people who saw anyone acting suspiciously at this art gallery at the time or anyone who has been offered this artwork in the past week or so.”

The burglary and theft were reported to Essex Police on Wednesday, March 12 by the painting’s 43-year-old owner.

Anyone with information in connection with this burglary is urged to contact Harlow’s Neighbourhood Crime Team on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
