Communities / Wed 16th Apr 2014 at 08:01am

THE DEPUTY chair of Harlow Council, Ian Beckett had his legs waxed for the Sam’s mission charity at the Park Inn.

Councillor Ian Beckett, as can be seen from the filmed extract, remained remarkably stoic throughout the proceedings as his legs were stripped of hair in what was a fund-raising as well a hair-raising process.

Park Inn beauticians Stephanie Smith and Gemma Webb helped in the pursuit of the less hirsute.

Sam Snelling raises money for Princess Alexandra Hospital’s neonatal unit where staff saved the life of Sam’s son Ralph, who suffered complications during birth.

The group has so far raised £8,500 towards their £10,000 target.
