Athletics: From California to Letchworth, Harlow runners continue to impress.

HARLOW Running Club’s Andy Kinney continued his run of American
marathons with the Avenue of the Giants Marathon, his third marathon
in as many weeks. Staged on the scenic “The Avenue of the Giants” in
Humboldt Redwoods State Park, located in rural Northern California,
the paved course winds through giant 300ft tall old growth redwoods.
Kinney finished in 501st place out of 636 finishers in 5hrs 16min 12sec.

Meanwhile at the Milton Keynes Marathon Alex Smith finished in 331st
place out of 2105 finishers in a superb 3hrs 37min 39sec and Andy
Ramage was 1441st in 4hrs 40min 15sec, both in their debut at the

At the Greenway Challenge Half Marathon at Letchworth, a hilly
multi-terrain course that surrounds the Garden City estate, Paula
Reynolds, in her debut at the distance, finished in 33rd place out of
227 finishers and 2nd lady in an excellent 1hr 39min 45sec. She was
followed home by Sean Flynn 34th in 1hr 39min 47sec, just 3 seconds
outside his personal best time for the distance.

At the Gunpowder Parkrun 5K at Waltham Abbey Jason Haigh finished in
12th place out of 113 finishers in a superb 20min 18sec.

At the Chelmsford Parkrun 5K Robin Lozeau finished in 105th place out
of 382 finishers in 23min 29sec and he was fol,lowed by David Page
111th in 23min 48sec.
