FIRST of all I would like to express my thanks to everyone for their thoughts and prayers following my heart attack. It was humbling to realise how many people took time to wish me well. I must also publically thank my good friend and agent Andrew Johnson, his wife Shona and family as well as my family for their incredible love and support during what was a very frightening episode in my life. I am now in recovery and looking forward to getting back to normal over the coming months.
Secondly I must thank all my constituents in Sumners and Kingsmoor who returned me as their Councillor for a 5th term of office. My campaign this year has been to Stop West Sumners especially as the Labour administration had overturned a Conservative motion in December 2012 to only support development to the north of Harlow.
Labour’s first ever third place result in Sumners & Kingsmoor is a clear message from Sumners and Kingsmoor residents that they do not want the West Sumners development and the gridlocked roads it would bring.
I am now calling on the Labour Administration to listen to the people and return to supporting development ONLY TO THE NORTH of Harlow and also confirm that they will not sell any Harlow Council land which would allow developers road access to our south or western borders!
