Harlow bus passengers told to plan ahead of Tour-de-France disruption

HARLOW bus passengers are being asked to plan for disruption to services when the Tour de France comes to the county on Monday 7th July.

In total, 24 services will be affected between 7.30am and 5pm – 13 services will not be running while others will be severely disrupted. Major delays are expected on services that are still running and revised timetables also being put in place.

Essex County Council’s Cabinet Member for Public Health and Wellbeing, Cllr Ann Naylor, said: “The Tour de France coming to Essex is going to be an exciting day and we want people to make the most of the day.

“There will be disruption to some bus services and it is really important regular bus users are aware of changes and cancellations and plan around them.

“Our advice is not to travel on that day if you don’t have to, and to re-arrange any appointments scheduled for that day.

“I hope that, by making people aware of any issues well in advance of 7th July, it will minimise disruption and help residents plan their day.”

A full list of the services affected is available in the ‘Public Transport’ section on www.LeTourEssex.com.

Also included is the contact number of the bus operators affected and members of the public are advised to contact their local operator.
