THE CHAIR of Harlow Council, Councillor Ian Beckett, is inviting families to don their onesies and join him on a special walk in aid of his chosen charities for this year, No Child Without, The Chocolate Run and the Gibberd Garden.

The walk will take place on Saturday 12 July 2014 at 11am and is expected to take just over an hour depending on how leisurely people wish to take it, setting off from Passmores Academy and following the cycle path down to St Mary at Latton Church, through The Gowers and finishing up at the Harlow Museum. Refreshments will be available at the end of the walk; there will also be a number of games with prizes to celebrate completing the walk.

onesieCouncillor Ian Beckett said: “This is set to be a really fun day and it will be very much a family event – the walk is intended for people of all ages and abilities and the route will be suitable for children in buggies and wheelchair users. The walk will also hopefully remind people that our cycle tracks can be a very pleasant way of getting around the town, keeping fit and taking in the beautiful natural environment which makes up part of our town.

“I’ve already got my onesie all set for the walk, and whilst wearing one is not compulsory to participate I hope that as many people as possible turn out in theirs – there will be a prize for the best one!”

Entry for the walk will cost £5 for adults, £3 for children and £10 for a family ticket (two adults and two children), with proceeds being divided up among the Chair’s three charities.
