It will soon be Rat Pack time at the Harlow Playhouse

The Rat Pack with special guest Liza Minnelli
The Harlow Playhouse
Saturday July 12th

THEATREGOERS are advised to buy their tickets early for the Ultimate Event. This show isn’t to be mistaken for a typical tribute Rat Pack show – Expect to be taken back in time with some Fifties Hollywood glamour from Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jnr for a special concert full of music, laughter and sophisticated style.

This outstanding show comes to The Harlow Playhouse for one night only after spending the year touring leading venues such as the O2 in London. The Rat Pack have been voted the number one tribute act in The UK by The Agents Association of Great Britain for The National Tribute Awards 2013 and this year the guys are joined by special guests. For the Harlow Playhouse there will be a special salute to the talents of Miss Liza Minnelli singing the favourites such as Cabaret and All That Jazz. The artists will be backed by the swinging Don Hunt band. Mr Hunt has also served as Bruce Forsyth’s musical director for over thirty years and during an amazing career has held the same role for the likes of Anthony Newley, Bing Crosby and even the real Sammy Davis Jnr. and who could forget about the L.A Showgirls!

The show accurately recreates the legendary performances of Frank, Dean, Sammy and Liza and features a star cast including Des Coleman who played Lenny in EastEnders and is a regular reporter for The One Show and This Morning.

For those too young to remember, the Rat Pack trio ruled the entertainment world with hit records and classic movies such as Oceans Eleven and Robin and The Seven Hoods.

Over the last few years the boys have teamed up on occasions with many renowned performers including Buddy Greco who was a regular performer with the original Rat Pack. “I can honestly say that having toured with these guys, they are as close as anyone will ever get to my dear friends – Frank, Dean and Sammy. At times it was just like being back with my pals at The Sands in the sixties – so much fun and it really doesn’t get any better than that. As for David Alacey – well this guy really is Sinatra – it’s frightening” commented Buddy after one of the shows. So impressed was Buddy’s with David Alacey’s voice that they have recently recorded a duo version of “One For My Baby” which is now available on iTunes.

The Ultimate Event show includes all of the hit songs made popular by the legendary performers such as “Ain’t That A Kick In The Head”, “The Lady Is A Tramp”, “My Way”, “Mr Bojangles” and of course, “New York New York”. Since Robbie Williams first brought the music of these legends to a younger audience, there have been many Rat Pack related shows and cd release’s, however none capture the feel of a real night in a Las Vegas cabaret room, more than “The Rat Pack” and The Harlow Playhouse is the perfect setting for such a show.

There has never been a better time to welcome back classic “Vegas Style” entertainment and this show will appeal to audiences of all ages. With a fabulous cast, a great band, stunning showgirls and quality songs.
