United in care: Fostering open day held at Ada Cole centre

REDWINGS’ adaAda Cole Visitor Centre welcomed Essex-based fostering agency Children First to raise awareness of caring for a foster child.

Foster Carer Recruitment Officer Kim Selfe and Registered Manager Linda McGrath, together with Children First mascot Rover, were on hand to offer information to prospective foster carers.

Redwings and Children First share a similar ethos of care, so we were keen to cultivate a positive working partnership. In comparison to the Sanctuary’s welfare mission, Children First strive to support families and provide children with a safe environment where they can be nurtured and grow.

In addition to providing valuable information for visitors to the Ada Cole centre and answering enquiries regarding foster care, the Children First representatives met Adoption star Tinkerbell – who appeared to be a firm favourite of their mascot Rover! Indeed, Tinkerbell was such a hit, Children First have adopted the beautiful palomino Shetland.

Children First is an independent, multicultural fostering agency that provides a fostering service for children and young people from various cultures and backgrounds, aged from birth to 18 years. For more information, visit http://www.cffa.co.uk
