POLICE in Harlow were called to Harlow Town Centre on Tuesday afternoon after a number of complaints about “aggressive begging”.

A number of female beggars were ‘trading” in several spots around the town including near to the library and the market square.

Essex Police attended and moved the “beggars” on.

One woman (who did not wish to be named) contacted YH to complain.

She said: “These woman were very aggressive. They would shove an empty coffee cup in your face and say ‘Please help me”.

“I was a little bit scared.”
