Ten-pin: Rollers finish on a high at the Harlow Bowl

THE Harlow Senior Rollers League recently finished their 2013/14 season.
The league is played as a singles format at Harlow Bowl on a Tuesday afternoon and has grown rapidly in the last nine months and now has thirty members.
Harlow’s John Bawden came out on top with 418 points, bowling an average of 158 and a league high handicap series of 646. In second place was Nicholas Taylor with 362 points and an average of 165 and in third place was David Court who had 331 points and an average of 126. The high handicapped game was shared by Chris Doe and Nicholas Taylor who both bowled 264.
The ladies high series was 590 and the high game 213, both bowled by Krysia Post.
The season ended with a team match at the bowling centre at Maldon. Over 9,000 pins were knocked down by the twenty two players, the winning team won by just 52 pins in a closely fought competition.
The leagues 2014/15 season is due to start in early September. Anyone over the age of fifty wishing to join the league should contact Harlow Bowl.
