Harlow Council act to remove travellers from Waterhouse Moor site

THE unauthorised encampment, which was on the former Passmores School playing field, moved on Sunday evening (31 August 2014) to other areas in Harlow. There were 20 caravans on Waterhouse Moor playing field and six caravans on Katherines/Tithelands playing field.
Both playing fields are owned by Harlow Council.
There is a new encampment of five caravans on the former Passmores School site which is Essex County Council land.
Yesterday (Monday) Harlow Council issued a “direction to leave land” to the encampments on Waterhouse Moor and Katherines/Tithelands.
Essex Police served a section 61 notice on the encampment on Waterhouse Moor playing field. The encampment had been advised to leave the land on or before 5pm today.
They left at lunchtime on Tuesday (Sept 2nd)
