THIS Sunday, 5 October, is Silver Sunday and West Essex Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is inviting Harlow residents to join the celebrations in the town.

Silver Sunday aims to celebrate older people and their valuable contribution to communities in west Essex, where West Essex CCG plans and buys healthcare services.

Dr Rob Gerlis, Harlow GP and chair of west Essex CCG said: “Silver Sunday is a good opportunity to support initiatives which encourage people to keep active and independent. The day brings with it some great events such as the music and refreshment event being run by Rainbow Services.”

Malcolm McCann, Executive Director at South Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust which provides social care and community services in Harlow said: “We’re working closely with health and social care organisations across west Essex to lead a programme of change for older people’s services.

This is with the aim of delivering safe and seamless health and social care while making best use of the resources available to us.”

The Rainbow Services event includes music and refreshments from 1.30pm – 3.30pm at Leah Manning Centre, Harlow where people can socialise and spend time with friends.

People can ‘bake, bring and share’ at the free event and are being asked to call 07793 007737 or email [email protected] for a free ticket or more information.
