Athletics: Harlow impress at Copped Hall

HARLOW Running Club picked up several awards at the multi-terrain Copped Hall 5 Mile race in Epping Forest. Rob Lowe finished in 4th place out of 114 finishers and 1st Vet 40 in an excellent 31min 51sec, Louise Tankard was 16th and 1st Lady in a superb 35min 40sec, Debbie Barry 67th and 1st Female Vet 45 in 44min 30sec and HRC won the Ladies Team Prize. Also running were Matt Jones 43rd in 41min 15sec, Paul Schroder 64th in 44min 19sec, Wendy Spring 75th in 46min 2sec and Jane Evans 76th in 46min 30sec.

Meanwhile at the Bromley Parkrun 5K Mark Hayward finished in 109th place out of 436 finishers in 22min 46sec.

At the Great Notley Parkrun 5K in Braintree Alan Wellbelove finished in 69th place out of 98 finishers in a personal best time for the distance (PB) in 29min 57sec.

At the Gunpowder Parkrun 5K in Waltham Abbey Andy Kinney finished in 55th place out of 110 finishers in 27min 39sec.

The day after Kinney completed the inaugural River Thames Path Half Marathon, a multi-terrain race between Hampton court Palace and Weybridge, finishing in 832nd place out of 929 finishers in 2hrs 20min 43sec. Also running in this race was Paul Lee 340th in a PB time of 1hr 47min 47sec.
