Apples at Cooks Spinney
Cooks Spinney Primary School, in Cooks Spinney, Harlow, has an apple theme running through it all year round, with its behaviour management system and class names using apples for inspiration.

The apple themed day, however, saw children use the apple as the basis for written description work, mathematical challenges through adapting apple muffin recipes for different batch sizes, as well as creating apple themed hanging decorations.

They also tasted different varieties of apples, tried apple carving and wrote apple themed poems.

Stuart Pope, head of school, said: “Apple day is a Spinney tradition and is a good opportunity for all year groups to get involved in activities based around the theme.”
