Book characters took a trip to the local library.

Pupils dressed as their favourite storybook stars for World Book Day at Cooks Spinney Primary School, in Cooks Spinney, Harlow, before visiting the local library.

Other pupils read The Gingerbread Man and baked their own gingerbread men or created their own characters and wrote stories.

Amy Warner, from Cooks Spinney, said: “There was a fantastic atmosphere here at Cooks Spinney on World Book Day, with lots of activities set up for the children. The purpose was to raise awareness of reading for enjoying among our children.”
