A WEEK-long book fair at Cooks Spinney Primary Academy, in Cooks Spinney, Harlow, helped to develop pupils’ interest in books and reading for pleasure.
Every day, teachers held reading sessions after school and gave children and their parents an opportunity to visit the fair to select books together.
Amy Dias, deputy headteacher, said: “It was a really successful week. Book character Geronimo Stilton got children excited by visiting and encouraging them to pop along to the book fair.”
Children also entered competitions through the week, such as guessing how many pages were in a book and creating their own characters.
The book fair will return later in the school year.
