Burnt Mill students’ artwork graces Princess Alexandra maternity unit

Burnt ArtNEW mums and dads will welcome their babies into the world surrounded by colourful artwork.

Creative students at Burnt Mill Academy, in First Avenue, Harlow, have been commissioned to produce a series of paintings to brighten up the maternity unit of the Princess Alexandra Hospital in the town.

Eight students from Year 9, 10 and 11 will see their work take pride of place around the refurbished department early next year.
Art teacher Karen Humphreys said: “Our GCSE students are planning out their artwork now to decorate the five rooms and corridors at the hospital. The theme we are following is, appropriately, new life.

“We are hoping to have the prints ready by the end of December. They will really brighten up the place.”
