ESSEX Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted and left seriously injured.

Officers were called at 4pm on Tuesday May 3 with reports of a disturbance in Copshall Close, Harlow.

The 35-year-old victim had been assaulted and struck with a bicycle. He was taken to hospital with serious facial injuries.

A 30-year-old woman from Harlow was arrested on suspicion of GBH and is currently in custody for questioning.

Police would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time or just before the incident and has any information about what happened.
