Athletics: From Washington to the River Stort

HARLOW Running Club member Andy Kinney ran a double header in Washington DC over
the weekend. On Saturday he ran the Fletcher’s Cove parkrun 5K, finishing in
32nd place out of 64 finishers in 26min 20sec. The next day Kinney completed the
Marine Corps Marathon finishing in 15,188th place out of 19,724 finishers in
5hrs 47min 11sec. As well as running through the nations capital city the race
also passes by the Pentagon and Arlington National Cemetery.
Meanwhile at the Luton Half Marathon Rob Lowe finished in 6th place out of 626
finishers and 1st Vet 40 in a fantastic 1hr 19min 20sec, just 20 seconds outside
his personal best time for the distance.
At the Stort 30, a 30 mile run along the River Stort towpath from Bishop’s
Stortford to Hoddesdon and back, Martyn Coulter finished in 72nd place out of
252 finishers in 4hrs 38min 38sec and Mark Moulds was 171st in 5.31.36.
At the Harlow parkrun 5K Afewerk Rossom finished in 2nd place out of 165
finishers in 18min 08sec. He was followed home by Andy Terrell 7th in 20.27,
Catherine Ridge 16th in 21.56, Terry Ridge 17th in 21.58, Paul Dixon 31st in
23.54, Alan Cootes 39th in 24.34, Rich Hynes 42nd in 24.59, Debbie Barry 44th in
25.10, Darren Tiley 57th in 27.03, Robin Lozeau 58th in 27.13, Martin Elven 67th
in 28.03, Austin Nyamande 69th in 28.11, Alan Wellbelove 82nd in 29.39, Louise
Cootes 83rd in 29.42, Pushpa Mistry 94th in 29.42 and Anna Robey 153rd in 49.01.
At the Gunpowder parkrun 5K in Waltham Abbey Jamie Jephcott finished in 2nd
place out of 142 finishers in 18min 48sec and Jamie Luck was 21st in 22.13.
At the Hackney Marshes parkrun 5K Adrian Fell finished in 15th place out of 163
finishers in 19min 54sec.
At the Hatfield Forest parkrun 5K Owen Haigh finished in 15th place out of 241
finishers in 20min 05sec. He was followed by Jason Haigh 18th in 20.18, Justin
Patten 71st in 25.28 and Peter Mills 148th in 29.47.
At the Panshanger parkrun 5K at Hertford John Bull finished in 25th place out of
253 finishers in 21min 47sec, Graham Saville was 40th in 22.50, Spencer Brooks
51st in 23.35 and Andy Smith 140th in 28.09.
At the Chelmsford parkrun 5K David Page finished in 170th place out of 480
finishers in 24min 54sec.
At the Hoddesdon parkrun 5K Paul Schroder finished in 18th place out of 66
finishers in 26min 05sec and Louise Kedge was 25th in 27.48.
At the Hockley Woods parkrun 5K Brenda Clayton finished in 139th place out of
194 finishers in 312min 44sec.
