BURNT Mill Academy held a Halloween Disco for the Year 7 & 8 pupils. The event was organised by the student DJs who run the in school radio station, Radio Piccadilly, who also provided the music for the evening. Over 60 pupils attended the disco in an impressive range of fancy dress outfits, from Suicide Squad’s ‘Harley Quinn’ to the dark lord Darth Vader and enjoyed a selection of spooky treats and themed drinks.

Prizes were awarded to the 3 best dressed (picture attached). Money raised from the event will go towards upgrading the Radio Piccadilly equipment.

Student DJ Mark Cave (Year 8) said ‘it was a really good event and everyone put in a lot of effort with their costumes. We had a smoke machine and extra lighting which transformed our school hall into the perfect halloween setting. We are hoping to run more events in the future to raise more money for the equipment we need to expand the radio project.’
