Rugby: England Deaf set to play All Blacks in Harlow

THE ENGLAND Deaf Rugby team are set to play New Zealand in a landmark three match series starting this Saturday at Blackheath RFC.

The international series is the first of its kind for England Deaf who were founded in 2003 to give deaf and hard of hearing players the chance to represent their country. In the process England Deaf have also helped promote deaf rugby across the country.

The squad includes five new caps with the first match set to kick off at 5pm. They will then meet again on Wednesday, 8 November at Harlow RFC before the third and final match on Sunday, 12 November at Barking RFC.

Sean Fletcher, England Deaf’s head coach told England Rugby.Com that the series was a huge moment for the players selected and deaf rugby in general.
