ESSEX Police have arrested a woman on suspicion of criminal damage and perverting the course of justice following two fires in Harlow.

Officers were called by the fire service following fires at neighbouring properties in Broadfield at around 1.20pm and 3.20pm yesterday (Tuesday, December 12).

Police established that the fires were started deliberately and increased patrols in the area and carried out house to house enquires.

Police then arrested a 26-year-old woman shortly before 1.30pm today and she remains in custody for questioning.
