High praise for Latton Green Primary by Ofsted

THE REMARKABLE turnaround in fortunes for Latton Green Primary school has been noted in a glowing report by Ofsted.
The school has been graded as Good after the government inspectors came to the school late last year.
The report states:
Since the academy opened, leaders have worked tirelessly to drive improvement. The head of school is supported well by the executive headteacher and the trust. Together they use training well to address weaknesses. Their relentless drive is shared by all.
The school’s plans for improvement are informed by a plethora of information that leaders gather. Senior leaders do not use this information well enough to identify emerging and key priorities. Leaders are not always able to track the impact of the actions they have taken.
Outcomes at the end of key stages 1 and 2 since the academy opened, have been at least in line with national averages and on occasion above. They show improvement over the past two years. Children in the early years achieve at least the same as their peers nationally.
Teaching over time is good. As a result, pupils’ progress is largely good across the school, including those pupils who are disadvantaged or those who have special educational needs (SEN) and/or disabilities. The most able pupils do not always achieve as well as they might.
