Bishop’s Stortford Rugby Club’s Charity of The Year Accuro visits the Rugby Club

The President’s charity Accuro attended an exciting afternoon at the club on Saturday and saw both the Blues and 1st XV victory in their game against Birmingham Moseley winning by 52-8.

Accuro who are now situated at Start Hill in Bishop’s Stortford work across West Essex, providing a range of services to families with children and adults with a disability. These include respite care, leisure and social activities, support and advice.  Accuro’s projects take place in Harlow, Epping and Uttlesford and the children and young adults supported have various conditions, learning and physical disabilities.

Natalie Emuss said “Funding from local organisations such as Bishop’s Stortford Rugby Club is vital to help Accuro to continue to deliver their support to service users and their families. We are so grateful to the Rugby Club to be chosen as the President’s Charity and look forward to working with them in the coming year. The club has a busy calendar and we are looking forward to raising awareness with the supporters.”

Mick Coleman said “One of my most important roles as President of Bishop’s Stortford Rugby Club, is to select a charity to support and work with for the duration of a season. There are many deserving charities, both local and national, that would have benefited from our support, but I was keen to choose a small, local charity, that could effectively use, not only monies raised by our club, but also one whose profile we could help to raise via the amazing army of players, volunteers and supporters we have at Silver Leys. So when Accuro was suggested to me, and especially after meeting their fantastic staff, they seemed the perfect fit. Accuro have continued to provide a quality service to people with a disability for 30 years, supporting not only young people and adults with a disability but also their families by providing respite through a range of services they offer.   We have strong family values at BSRFC therefore the synergy seemed a perfect marriage, we are looking forward to building a solid partnership with the same core values.“
