Harlow man escapes jail after pleading guilty to possessing images of child abuse

A HARLOW man has escaped jail after pleading guilty to possessing large number of child abuse images on his computer.

Michael Ives, aged 31, of Corner Meadow, Harlow pleaded guilty to the following at Chelmsford magistrates court.

Between 27/06/2016 and 16/10/2017 at Harlow made indecent photographs, namely, 11 images of children of category A

Between 27/06/2016 and 16/10/2017 at Harlow made indecent photographs, namely, 27 images of children of category B

Between 27/06/2016 and 16/10/2017 at Harlow made indecent photographs, namely, 411 images of children of category C

Ives received a suspended sentence . He was jailed for 26 weeks but it was suspended for eighteen months.

He was also subject to a number of supervision and rehabilitation orders including a sexual harm prevention order for seven years.

A number of computers have also been forfeited.
