A MAGICAL day which saw a unicorn appear at a school gave inspiration to children’s writing.
Each new topic at Little Parndon Primary Academy, in Harlow, is marked with a hook to draw pupils in and capture their attention and imagination.
This term, pupils arrived at school to find a unicorn in the grounds, along with footprints. Each day, the unicorn had moved.
Head of school Kirstie Clark said: “This wow day was a magical experience for pupils. They have been writing reports on what they discovered.
“Wow days are a way of hooking pupils into a topic and giving them a real experience to draw on to improve their writing skills and imaginations.”
