HARLOW SUPPORT GROUP GETS CASH INJECTION

A SUPPORT group that offers respite for parents and carers of children with additional needs has been granted £1000 by a leading regional housebuilder.

Persimmon Homes Essex donated the money as part of its Community Champions initiative, where charities and groups can apply for funding up to £1,000.

The group will use the money to fund trips and activities for its young members.

Deborah Jackson, a representative from ‘The Friends of Sam’s Place’ said: “This money will offer our children the opportunity to see new places and have new experiences, while enabling their parents to take some time away and spend quality.”

Phil Standen, managing director for Persimmon Homes, Essex, said: “At Persimmon it is important for us to support local communities where we build. We are delighted to be awarding this money to the Sam’s Place.”

Phil also added that there are many worthy applicants to the Persimmon Homes Community Champions Scheme each month and urges groups who weren’t successful to apply again.
