THIS year will mark the 10th anniversary of The Square’s Christmas Eve party band. Of course there were Christmas Eve parties at The Square more than 10 years ago, but this is 10 years of the concept.
The first event was a Top Of The Pops themed night, with a house band playing a count down of the top 10 Christmas songs all sung by guest singers from local bands.
The night quickly grew into 2 x 1 hour sets with more guests joining the band. It isn’t just singers from local bands, but now people from behind the bar and punters who had never performed on stage joining in the fun.
Following the closure of The Square we decided to carry on with one of the venue’s most popular nights, taking the event to Burnt Mill Academy (for Club Foot) in 2017 and PhoenixLive in 2018.
Now, to celebrate 10 years of The Square’s Christmas Eve Party Band, we will be providing a Rock & Roll Christmas at Latton Park, home of Harlow Rugby Club.
Expect all the classics, and some not so, sung by a host of performers, at what is now widely regarded as Harlow’s best Christmas Eve night out.
Promoter, Adam Smith says ‘I’m really pleased to be able to present this event for the 10th year. What was a simple idea has grown into a tradition for lots of people. Harlow Rugby Club is a brilliant multi purpose venue, and following the success of our summer reunion it’s great to be able to offer another event here under the name of The Square.’
