Harlow produce best Rugby of the season to stun second place Upminster.
Harlow travelled to Upminster on Saturday to try and extend their winning run to nine games.
Losing the toss and playing down the slope, Harlow knew they needed to start well to consolidate a first half lead.
Harlow began well with second row Jack Bryne making a break into the oppositions half with wing forward Will Garner receiving the pass to go over the line scoring Harlow’s first try. Rick Hobbs converted to take the away side into a early 7 – 0 lead.
After soaking up Upminster’s pressure full back Jack Almond gathered the ball. With his quick thinking goes on the counter attack linking up with winger Dale Stalley. Chay Clark took over with a long pass to Will Garner in space running into the corner to score Harlow’s second try.
Upminster then conceded a kickable penalty in the last few minutes of the first half. Rick Hobbs converted the penalty sending Harlow into the changing rooms at half time with a 15 – 0 lead.

Harlow started the second half going up the slope but many wondered, would the 15 points be enough!!
Winger Scott Whitby on his first game back from injury showed he hadn’t lost any pace. Flying through the Upminster defence off-loading to prop Ryan Clark in support scoring the first try of the second half.
Second row Jack Byrne was taking no prisoners and surged into the Upminster half brushing away attempts to tackle him. A loose pass by Rick Hobb’s finds the boot of Chay Clark guiding the ball to the arms of supporting centre Jake Hobbs to score Harlow’s fourth try of the game and the bonus point. With brother Rick converting the kick the away side found themselves with a 27 – 0 lead.
Harlow forwards start to dominate the rucks and mauls. A pick up and carry from Ryan Clark, crashes over the line to score his second and Harlows fifth try.
Fly half Rick Hobbs latches on to a through kick to score Harlow’s sixth try.
At this point Upminster were a broken side and james Clark gathers the ball simply from a loose Udminster ruck and runs from the half way line to score under the posts for try number seven. A easy conversion by Rick Hobbs takes the score to 0 – 44.
A long pass by Rick Hobb’s finds winger Scott Whitby scampering up the line sending a pass inside to Jake Hobb’s to score Harlow’s eighth and final try of the game. The conversion kick by Rick Hobb’s give Harlow an unexpected resounding win.
