A CHINESE New Year celebration has been cancelled due to concerns over coronavirus.

The event, organised by the Harlow Chinese Community, was scheduled to take place at Lower Meadow on Sunday but YH understands that organisers have decided to be cautious and cancel the event.

The Harlow organisers are not alone. Many events across the country and around the world have done likewise.

There have been almost 35,000 cases of the coronavirus globally, mostly in China. The latest incident stems from a man who became the UK’s third confirmed case when he tested positive on his return to Brighton.
