Streetlight maintenance (or lack of) in Harlow

Dear Editor,
SEEING that Ringway Jacobs have had their contract to maintain lighting in Essex renewed perhaps they will now get on with doing their job. There is a very efficient looking website to report issues but whether it is ever used by Ringway Jacobs I find hard to believe
There are two lights in particular that I am aware of that have issues where I can give a timescale..
Firstly I noticed a problem with light 3789/280497 on Partridge Road which was constantly flickering when lit. I noticed the issue at Christmas 2018 only to find that it had already been reported so I needed to do nothing. As of today 1/3/2020 it continues to flicker.
Secondly the light immediately next to that on Partridge Road….namely 3718/274257 on Southern Way ceased to work last Easter 2019. I reported this more to just to see what would happen and again as of 1/3/2020 the light remains nonfunctional.
These are the only lights I can give a definite timescale to but there are many other lights I see on a daily basis that do not seem to be maintained. Consequently I did a very quick check on the council website to see how many lights have been reported and are awaiting action purely on Southern way and did not include any of the connecting roads. As of 1/3/2020 there are 16 cases awaiting action. Easy to check through the link below.

Also worth checking on fixmystreet for more faults, i reported a light without a cover via Essex cc webite where it stressed it would be repaired as it was dangerous, well that was a waste of time and money on a phone call so never again and i will do it via fix my street as they forward it anyway.
Yes, there are issues with some streetlights and traffic islands - many of the longer standing ones are defects, many to do with National Power Networks. Although I am on top of all those reported to me, I will check these and respond to Mark, although I am sure he will have more to tall me about as he always does when there is an election in the air!
