THIS is a short message from the editor of YourHarlow to say that we are there for you. To be honest, we don’t know exactly what that means but we felt we should say something.
Our job, as an on-line newspaper, which has published 16,795 stories since it launched on July 1st, 2013, has been to document life as it is in Harlow each day.
With us all living in the midst of a Coronavirus pandemic, that job, to chronicle what is happening and not to speculate or cause anyone anxiety or fear is more important than ever.
In many ways, we write for the people who may not be on the Internet. The ladies at the Manor Hatch Sheltered Accommodation, Olive who lives three doors down or the retired veterans at the Legion.
So, let us know if there is anything we can tell our readers. There’s a lot of them you know (933,408 page views since January 1st).
If there is an event off let us know. If there is an event still on, let us know.
If you, as an individual are offering to help the community or you are a community group, then also let us know.

We will continue to ask all relevant authorities regarding plans of action or statements they have made. We will continue publish statements from all relevant organisations.
Harlow does have a unique sense of community and this is a time for that to be shown and celebrated.
Our parents, grandparents, came to this town, after World War Two and right up to present day, to build a home, a community and nurture a sense of belonging. Those aspirations still hold true today.
From Harlow Rock School in Katherines to the Knit and Natter group in Old Harlow. community is alive and togetherness is thriving.
We are going to sign off now before we get all “blood, tears, toil and sweat” but I hope you take this editorial in the spirit it is intended.
Be kind, be kind-hearted, be good to your neighbours and work together. I am pretty sure there is 80,000 people proud of this town. This is a good time to prove it.

There is also no better time to realise the pointlessness of politicians from all political parties. This crisis has been obvious for months, yet we still kept flights coming in from infected areas, and did no screening. The governments plans now are pitifiul, at the time we are all being asked to pay taxes to fund these parties. Now is the time perhaps to stop paying taxes and to abolish political parties, professional politicians and political correctness which has placed us in this situation.
Sense of community, you must be joking when you youself have published the advice from supermarkets, nowadays it is all about number one from toilet rolls to parking spaces. Daresay some community groups are thriving but all i see is the me, me, me generation and i am a boomer so you can shot me down for that.
We sure will pull together when it cones to this corona virus. There is more to this than meets the eye. We are British, we will get through this.
