A PRIMARY school in Harlow has confirmed that a pupil in their reception class has tested positive for coronavirus.
The child is a pupil at Katherines Primary Academy on Brookside, Harlow.
The headteacher, Mrs Annette Norris sent an e-mail to parents and guardians to detail the circumstances surrounding the pupil’s illness.
As the school is part of the NET Academies group of schools, we asked for a statement from their spokesperson.
A spokesperson for the school said:
“We can confirm a case of COVID-19. Following the advice of Public Health England, we will not be closing the school as the child has not been in school since last Monday 9th March. We will closely follow the advice of the medical professionals on this issue.
“We are providing parents with updates of every confirmed case so they can make their own decisions about whether they wish to send their child into school.
“We will continue to ensure high standards of hygiene and cleaning throughout the schools.”
