Letter to Editor: Police driver etiquette in Harlow

Your Say / Sun 7th Mar 2021 at 11:19am

Dear Editor,

I just want to clarify the use of blue lights and the manners of police driving.

It was 18:35 on March 5th, I turned into Mardyke Road from Momples Road. Both sides parked with cars.

I stopped at the free turning on my right to allow oncoming vehicle to go in free space on my right to allow both of us to move. The incoming vehicles thought no I am not going to the free space instead approached me head on even as we indicated that there is a free space so that we both can pass each other.

The on coming vehicle then turned her blue lights on to tell me they were a police car and invited me to reverse back up the road!

As I did the police women had a grin on her face!

Is this the courtesy or manners our police force has become with the highlight of them having extra powers over citizens in COVID situation and that my council tax is also another highest increase goes to them?
