Historic Hannukah celebrations held in Harlow Town Centre

Harlow is 70: Why I Came Here / Wed 8th Dec 2021 at 11:44am

HANNUKAH was celebrated for the first time in Harlow Town Centre on Sunday afternoon.

The event culminated with the lighting of the Menorah (as part of the Festival of Lights) by Harlow MP Robert Halfon.

The event was organised by Rabbi Yossi Posen and members of the Epping Chabad.

Over two hundred people attended and were entertained by wonderful music and even more wonderful cakes.

There was also an exhibition of Harlow school pupils Menorah pictures which were part of a competition organised by the Chabad.

The areas of Harlow, Epping and Ongar have seen a growing Jewish community over the past few years.

A film of the music and the art exhibition is below.
