WE thought we would film a v-log for our Harlow is 75 project up on Gilden Park on New Years Eve.
Yes it is the last day of 2022, the year that marked Harlow New Town’s 75th anniversary.
But we don’t see it as the end of the project.
Harlow is 70 continues. Since 2017, we have continued to chronicle the stories of people’s lives as they left London to come to Harlow.
And so it will be with Harlow is 75.
All the films can be found on a dedicated channel.
In this film, our editor, reflects on the last year of filming, explains why he has chosen Gilden Park for the final film and thanks everyone who has been involved in the project.
To mark the town’s 75thanniversary, Harlow Council and Your Harlow undertook a project which recorded the diverse history, heritage, and culture of the people and groups which are part of modern-day Harlow.
The Harlow at 75 project is made up of audio-visual recordings of conversations with both individuals and groups that explores their lives abroad before settling in Harlow.
The project reflectsed that we are a local but global new town and explores themes such as the definition of “Home”.
