Come to ACL Essex’s Apprenticeship Event in Chelmsford!
ACL Essex / Fri 3rd Feb 2023 am28 07:48am
ADULT education provider ACL Essex, part of Essex County Council (ECC), is encouraging the people of Harlow to attend the Apprenticeship and Skills Fair at County Hall in Chelmsford on 7 February from 10am-3pm.
To encourage people onto apprenticeships, and to mark National Apprenticeship Week (6-12 February 2023), ACL Essex is hosting an Apprenticeship and Skills Fair to raise awareness of the huge range of apprenticeship and skills opportunities on offer. The fair will take place at Remembrance Square, County Hall, Chelmsford, opposite the library.
Local providers will be in attendance to talk about apprenticeship opportunities, and attendees will get the chance to talk to people currently taking apprenticeships, look at live vacancies, talk to local education and support services, and find out how to take part in fundraising activities for a local foodbank.
Essex Opportunities will also showcase their new Apprenticeship Hub, which provides help and support to find and apply for an apprenticeship. ECC’s Entry to Work team will also be in attendance and will provide insight into the range of apprenticeship opportunities they have on offer.
Lisa Jarentowski, ACL Essex Principal, is championing the learning provider’s apprenticeship offer. She said: “At our Apprenticeship and Skills Fair, we want to highlight the apprenticeships we provide at ACL Essex and show employers how they can benefit from taking on an apprentice. We want to invite everyone down to County Hall in Chelmsford on 7 February to take a look at the opportunities on offer.”
Councillor Tony Ball, ECC Cabinet Member for Education Excellence, Lifelong Learning and Employability, added: “We want to dispel the myth that apprenticeships are only for people who have just left school. Apprenticeships are for everyone and can even be used to upskill current staff.”
The learning provider will also host two online events on 6 and 7 February. The event on 6 February will showcase the variety of apprenticeship opportunities on offer, while the online event on 7 February will inform employers about how to recruit or upskill staff using apprenticeships.
During Apprenticeship Week, ACL Essex will work together with partner ECC services to dispel myths surrounding apprenticeships, highlight opportunities available to ECC employees, celebrate the achievements of apprentices, and showcase success stories from across the county.
