TODAY we’re celebrating women everywhere. We’re marking achievements as well as highlighting the continuing need to tackle inequality, reproductive rights and violence against women.
The UN Secretary General said achieving gender equality will take another 3 centuries! Looks as though we’d better get a move on.
The murder of Sarah Everard focused minds on the level of violence against women and the need for education, for a cultural shift. Men have to be part of the solution.
There is hope, though. More women are being appointed to senior positions as lawmakers, ministers, management roles. We will continue to progress.
Today we think of the multitude of wonderful women and their achievements. We thank them; we’re with them. We fight on.
Is there a national mens day?
November 19th Terry.
3 centuries??? If it takes 3 days it’s too long! My life has been blessed with a multitude of strong and inspirational women. Long me that trend continue.
