The Garden of India: Thank you for your feedback (would you like a side dish of sarcasm?)

THERE is a sort of iron rule, that when you receive criticism, constructive or otherwise, then you say “Thank you for your feedback” and move on.

Many of us are tempted to respond but then just move on.

However, The Garden of India restaurant in Bush Fair recently responded to a review on Trip advisor and decided to respond.

The résponse was very much in the spirit of: a customer certainly has the right (via TripAdvisor) to tell a restaurant about their experience and in turn a restaurant that has spent decades building up their reputation and brand has every right to reply.

If you know Mo and the team, the key phrase is the quotation from Whitney Houston “I will aways love you!”.

And this may be an example of that well worn phrase that there is so such thing as bad publicity as we understand that this exchange has gone viral with hundreds of thousands of views and the media on the phone!

I always eat at Raj Lodge as its closer to me but I believe both are run by the same people and I LOVE Raj Lodge. I won't eat Indian anywhere else. Once they had a big group in, who come in once a year for a big staff night out, with table karaoke and stuff. When we arrived for a table, not prebooked, they openly said they had a table but warned us of the potential disruption and said they would totally understand if we didn't want to still come in. Turned out to be a great giggle (they were rubbish at karaoke by the way!) and Mo was great during covid with supporting those people struggling.
