Winnie the Pooh is coming to Victoria Hall Theatre

Entertainment / Thu 21st Sep 2023 at 08:23am

A NEW production of A.A.Milne’s ‘Winnie the Pooh’ is coming to the Victoria Hall Theatre in Old Harlow.

It is a brand new adaptation for the stage that Half Term Productions have adapted from A.A.Milne’s original stories.

Producer Caroline Petherbridge said: “I have loved A.A.Milne’s writing all my life and have a particular fondness for Winnie the Pooh. It is full of wit and warmth and has something for everyone, not just children. I know this show will captivate the whole family”.

The stars of the show are the incredible puppets of Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, Rabbit and Owl made by talented local creator Izzy Lacey. They are enchanting and brought to life by our three incredible puppeteers, Trovy Simpson, Sparow Edwards and Luna Austin. A.A.Milne and Christopher Robin are played by wonderful local actors Joe Bishop and Daisy Mawdsley.

Another exciting addition to this production is the original music, written and performed by musician Kate Garner, who is the daughter of Chas Hodges of Chas & Dave fame. Her jolly 1920’s style soundtrack lifts the show to another level and they are very lucky that she is involved. Chas & Dave performed in Harlow many times during their career and so it’s especially meaningful for Kate to perform here.

This show is produced by popular production company ‘Half Term Productions’, and will be staged during the upcoming October school half term holiday. Performances are twice daily at 10.30am and 2.30pm from Monday 23rd to Saturday 28th October. Tickets are already selling fast and audiences are advised to secure tickets early to avoid disappointment.
