A CHILDREN’S nursery, popular with a number of Harlow parents is making an appeal after a fire has destroyed their property.
A crowdfunding page for Blossoms Nursery in Thornwood has been set up if anyone can help.
The message on their page states:
On Monday 18th September after operating hours Blossoms Nursery had faced a tragic and unfortunate event. The once beautiful grade II Listed Building had caught on fire accidentally due to an electrical appliance, which rapidly spread throughout the building. This left over 80 children without care and education, consequently interrupting work for all their parents and leaving over 20 staff without jobs. Fortunately no one was harmed.
We are trying our best to find alternative or temporary accommodation for trading so we can continue to provide care for our children, allowing their parents to return to work as usual and also provide work for our staff so we can continue to support them during this time of increased living costs. Our Staff will be affected by this tragedy just as much as our clients so we are trying our best to support them in any way we can.
Throughout the 12 years of operating as a successful Nursery, we have raised money for charity, provided clothes and food to food banks/shelters and supported our clients and staff in various non profit ways. We want to continue giving to our community but we need your help first to help us get back on our feet.
We are grateful for all your help and support in this matter.
Many Thanks,
Blossoms Nursery
Was there not insurance in place?
This stinks a bit, weren't the devices PAT tested? I'd have thought being a nursery full of kids that the authorities would be strict with these things. Lucky no one was hurt or killed.
