THE passing of music legend Shane MacGowan was announced today. He was 65 years of age.
The lead singer with The Pogues was a great influence on many Harlow musicians,
So as a tribute may we take you back to 1991 when the Pogues played Harlow Town Park.

RIP Shane McGowan hard to believe Harlow once had a thriving music scene , Thin Lizzy and Hawkwind also played the Town Park in years gone by also , and the now defunct Square was also a magnet for touring bands .

I was a Harlow Council youth trainee working backstage and I think the rider cost nearly as much as the band! I think it may have been their penultimate gig? Highlight of my life meeting them. Support from the epic Tender Trap !
