IN a festive display of community goodwill just four days before Christmas, 9-year-old James Theobold is embarking on a sponsored walk to benefit the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance. He has already smashed his original £250 target, with an impressive £652 already raised, James is spreading joy and embodying the true spirit of giving.

Amidst the hustle and bustle of the season, James dedicates time to both training and collecting funds, showcasing determination beyond his years. The community’s overwhelming generosity has surpassed expectations and ignited a sense of collective support.

Recently visiting the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance base at Earls Colne, James witnessed the helicopter’s return from a flight. He learned about the considerable cost of these life-saving missions and the organisation’s plan to acquire a new helicopter next year. “They are expensive!” James exclaimed.

Scheduled for an early start on December 21st, James, accompanied by family and friends, will set out at 7:30 am, aiming to conclude the walk by 3:00 pm. His journey, which holds a touch of nervous excitement, symbolises the resilience and commitment to making a positive impact.

Walking from Colchester Hospital, the walk’s heartwarming conclusion at the Earls Colne base of the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance promises not only a celebratory finish but also a perfect photo moment against the backdrop of the Christmas season.

Essex & Herts Air Ambulance expresses deep gratitude for the community’s support and encourages further engagement. To follow James’s festive journey or contribute to this meaningful cause, please visit James’s fundraiser for Essex & Herts Air Ambulance
