Rainbow Services host free Christmas party for over fifty local families

Charity / Thu 21st Dec 2023 at 01:07pm

HARLOW-based charity Rainbow Services, which works to improve the lives of local people, arranged a fabulous free Christmas party for around 50 local families on Saturday.

Staff and volunteers from the charity cooked up a feast to serve the families thanks to a donation from Harlow Bounty Club. The party, which was held at St Paul’s Church in the town centre, featured party games from Simon of Fun Filled Games, Christmas arts & crafts and even a visit from Santa Claus himself!

Thanks to a very generous donation of toys from staff at Harlow based company Synthomer, and Sisk’s supply chain partner McFadden’s, every child took an amazing gift home with them.

The event was funded by Harlow Council’s Civic Pride fund and Rainbow Services.

Families from across Harlow were invited, as well as those families who have been beneficiaries of Rainbow Services projects throughout 2023.  It was the perfect way to bring together families to enjoy an afternoon of fun and make new friends.

During 2023 Rainbow Services have delivered projects for Harlow seniors, young people, people in crisis, and families, as well as providing free support to other not for profit organisations to enable them to thrive – such as providing landscaping services and serving teas at BBC’s DIY SOS Christmas special at Butterfly Effect Wellbeing which aired on Monday!

Hi Me. and Dizzy, thanks for reading our article and commenting, you raise a very good point. Unfortunately it's really hard for us to advertise, because as a charity, we don't have the money, so we rely on word of mouth, social media and of course the wonderful Your Harlow (although even then we don't have the time to write as many press releases as we should!) It's great that you have seen this though, and although this party has already happened we always have lots going on throughout the year which I would love to connect you to if it may help. You can find out what we do on our website www.rainbowservices.org.uk, and you can also follow us on the various social media platforms - facebook is the most popular: "Rainbow Services (Harlow)" and "Rainbow Community Builder". Our office is at 2 Wych Elm, but most of our work is out and about in the community. If you have any questions or want to find out more about what we do and how we can help please just email us at [email protected], or give us a call on 01279 308 150 (between 10-2pm Mon to Fri) and one of the team will be happy to help. Hope this helps.
