Purple Emperor pub installs defibrillator (and it gets used immediately!)

THE PURPLE Emperor pub in Harlow has just installed a defibrillator.
The popular community-based pub off Momples Road has alway ago its patrons welfare in mind and so landlords Karen and Richard Holloway made installing the potentially life saving machine a priority.
Richard said: “The Purple Emperor, its patrons, and the local community raised the funds to place a Defibrillator on the outside wall of the pub.
“Whilst we hope this never has to be used, everyone that helped raise funds will ultimately be a part of helping somebody’s love one should it need to be used.
“The Purple Emperor is the beating heart of the local community”.
A few days later, a paramedic borrowed the defibrillator after a report of an incident in The Stow.
Richard added: “We were pleased our defibrillator was on hand to be used but it shows that there are not enough of these around our town.”

All pubs and clubs and restaurants should be made to have one by law. Yes they are expensive but it might be one of their relatives it saves.

Well done to everyone who helped to raise the funds for this defibrillator. It gives peace of mind to know its there should it be needed.

I think this is a wonderful idea & thing to do. But there is one hell of a big worry. It being attached to a wall of a pub or anywhere else really as there are always these idiots who will come along & won't care in the least that these defibrillators are live saving equipment. NOT something they can play about with or even touch. Let's hope that this is not the case & they leave this one piece of equipment wherever it be exactly in it's place for EMERGENCIES.

JR i am in total agreement with you and it was exactly what i thought off as soon as i see it on the wall. Lets hope that the feral youths in Harlow will prove us wrong.

Paramedics should really have these machines in their vehicles,such an important machine.Well done Purple Emperor patrons.
