AS you may know, we are following a number of Harlow residents as they take on the challenge of the London Marathon on April 21st.

Among them is Jordan Newborough, a PE teacher at Freshwaters Primary Academy.

Jordan said: “In April I am running the London Marathon in aid of Children with Cancer UK.

“Unfortunately, one of our students has been diagnosed with stage 3 brain cancer and is currently undergoing chemotherapy. I’ve seen firsthand the amazing work that the charity does for children like Stanley and this has motivated me to run the marathon for such a great cause. 

I’m well into my training programme now, running three times a week and have a few half marathons under my belt. I’m really enjoying it so far however last week’s cold weather of -5 was definitely a challenge.
