A SPECIAL event to mark Holocaust Memorial Day was held in the Harlow Council chamber on Sunday evening.

Although the event marked the murder of six million Jews in Germany during the Second World War.

It also mourned and marked all other genocides around the world.

The Chair of Harlow Council, Andrew Johnson welcomed the attendees to the event. The event was led by Rabbi Irit from the Harlow Jewish Community.

The event was marked by prayers, speeches and reflections including members of the Muslim, Hindu and Christian traditions.

Harlow MP Robert Halfon, the leader of Harlow Council, Dan Swords and the Labour leader, Chris Vince also spoke.
